In early November 2011 Niles Burn Run Received an extremely generous gift. Marc Lancaster, owner of Sauk Trail On 17, has become Niles Burn Run's largest donor ever. Mr. Lancaster vended his tasty barbecued meats at the first two day downtown venue in 2010. Less than one month later, Mr. Lancaster's original restaurant, Sauk Trail Bar & Grille, in Union Michigan, suffered a business closing fire. What would normally be a down and out punch to many businesses, Mr. Lancaster rolled with the punches and came back fighting. The resilient restaurateur re-opened in a new location on County Road 17 in Elkhart Indiana and then turned what was a tragedy into an unbelievable donation. By donating the building and property, Mr. Lancaster turned his personal catastrophe into the most generous and heartfelt gift ever received by the ten year old charity. Thank You! And please, Niles Burn Run supporters, visit Marc's new restaurant located at 56039 Parkway Avenue Elkhart, IN 46516 and enjoy a barbecue you're likely not to forget. While you're there please take a moment to shake his hand and thank him for supporting the children of Great Lakes Burn Camp!

Getting Ready To Do It All Over Again!
The Niles Burn Run Board of Directors have set the date for next years annual event. Again it will be a two day event on July 14th & 15th, 2012. As tradition would have it that's the third Sunday in July. Niles Burn Run is very excited about the potential for increased crowds and participation next year as we will not be competing with such large events as St. Joseph Venetian Festival, Muskegon Bike Time, or the Boogie in southern Indiana. For that reason, along with the huge support we received from the community, Niles Burn Run has set a few of the following goals: reach out to a larger region; create new and different events on Saturday; bring in a headliner band; and change up the Sunday luncheon; along with many other changes.
To make these changes possible we're going to need a lot more help. Niles Burn Run is actively seeking volunteers to help plan and conduct next years event. We are sorely understaffed in all committees. If you would like to help out please click here and drop us a note. Someone will get back to you within 24 hours and let you know when our next regular meeting is. We have openings on the following committees:
